The Jimmy Fund

The Boston Red Sox are unequalled champions in the fight against cancer. Since 1953, the Red Sox have teamed with The Jimmy Fund to save lives, find cures, and dramatically change the quality of life for children and families facing cancer in New England and around the world.

The Red Sox adopted the Jimmy Fund as its official charity in 1953, and since then, the two have established a deep bond — unlike any other in professional sports. From the beginning, team owners, coaches, players and other members of the Red Sox family have supported the cause with enthusiasm, helping to advance cancer research and treatment and bring hope to countless children and adults facing this disease. Now more than 50 years later, the friendship between Boston's favorite baseball team and New England's favorite charity is stronger than ever.
